What an amazing end of year….
Talia gained a Pinnacle Award and Evie and James gained Merit Awards. These awards are given out to the children that have shown the best attitude to school during the whole year – each class has a few special awards. This is excellent for all of them to gain an award and the first year all three of them got one together! Well done – such a great effort.

We are so Proud! Well done.

The summer is here and it is warm enough to go to the beach to do some kayak surfing!

James riding the wave all the way to the beach

Now that was fun!

Taking a Break!

Contemplating the surf
What a fun time – except carrying the kayaks back to the car – a few grumpy children

We had fun planting our gardens – we bought bags from the Warehouse and each chose our plants. The ground in Pauanui is only sand – so it is best to grow fruit and veg in a bag.

Talia planted (L-R) Cucumber, Silver Beet and Tomato :)

Evie Planted (L-R) Courgette, Peas and Silver Beet :-)

James planted (L-R) Tomato, Peas and Silver Beet ;-)

Rosie planted (L-R) Strawberries, Peas and Beans!
They should be ready to eat in December – we’ll let you know!

At the start of the school holidays the weather wasn’t so good – so we went out on the estuary mud flats and went slip-sliding a few times.
Here are the very muddy pictures below – we had fun!

At school we all had to make things for the Pet Day – we each made 5 things – it’s a busy time – but we loved it.

Evie's Fruit/Veg Turtle

Evie made this map of the world out of painted toilet paper and blue jelly

Talia's Monster Cake

Talia's "Most Unusual Container" - she made a plaster cast of Tim's nose!

James' Miniature Garden

James "Kiwi" Veg Creation
The children love this day – but it is crazy for the parents – these are only 2 out of the 5 things each child has to bring in to make at school on the day. Getting all the things together is a mission – that’s when only one child would be good……

We had a fabulous holiday and the snorkelling was excellent.

Daddy and Rosie at the Isle of Pines

Mummy snorkelling in the natural aquarium at the Isle of Pines

It was right about now that our underwater camera decided it didn't like being underwater..... so no more pics :-)

Rosie wanted to wash dolly – so we got a bath for dolly on the deck … who was the bath for?

It soon became clear who the bath was really for!

That bath looks just the right size for ..... Rosie? And dolly is nowhere to be seen.

Talia and Evie are learning to unicycle (with the aid of the tennis court fence).

Talia on the unicycle - she can now go about 3m by herself - well done Talia

Evie on the unicycle - she is going really well and can now go along with only 1 hand on the fence - well done Evie

Rosie on her Barbie scooter - although I think she prefers the 2-wheel scooters of the others!

James did loads of laps of the tennis courts on his speedy scooter - well done James
